Putting your business on your vehicle is one of the smartest marketing moves a local company can make. But “wrap the truck” can mean very different things. Here is a plain-English look at the four main options, so you can pick the one that fits your goals and budget.
Full wrap
A full wrap covers the whole vehicle, or nearly all of it, in printed vinyl. It gives you complete control of color and design, and it turns the vehicle into a moving billboard.
- Best for: businesses that want maximum attention, bold brand colors, photos or a design that changes the color of the vehicle.
- Keep in mind: it is the biggest investment, and the vehicle should be in good condition before it is wrapped.

Partial wrap
A partial wrap covers part of the vehicle, such as the back half, the sides or the lower panels, and blends into the paint. Done well, a partial wrap can look almost as striking as a full wrap.
- Best for: vehicles whose paint color already works with your brand, and businesses that want strong impact at a lower cost.
- Keep in mind: the design has to work with the paint color, so we plan the layout around it.
Lettering and decals
Cut vinyl lettering puts your business name, logo, services and phone number on the doors, sides or back. It is clean, professional and very readable.
- Best for: contractors, service companies and fleets that want a professional look on a budget.
- Keep in mind: it does not change the vehicle color, so the design has to stand out against the paint.
Car magnets
Magnetic signs stick to the steel body panels of a vehicle and can be taken off at any time.
- Best for: personal or shared vehicles that are used for business only part of the time.
- Keep in mind: they only work on flat steel panels, and they should be removed and cleaned underneath regularly.
Quick comparison
| Option | Coverage | Impact | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Full wrap | Whole vehicle | Highest | Maximum attention, bold brands |
| Partial wrap | Part of the vehicle | High | Strong look at a lower cost |
| Lettering & decals | Name, logo, contact info | Medium | Professional look on a budget |
| Car magnets | Door panels | Basic | Personal or shared vehicles |
How to decide
Start with three questions: How long will you keep the vehicle? How much attention do you want it to get? And what is your budget? A company with a growing fleet might start with lettering on every truck and a full wrap on one “hero” vehicle. A food truck usually needs a full wrap, because the truck is the storefront.
If you are not sure, send us photos of your vehicle and tell us what you want people to remember. We will recommend the option that gets the job done. Request a free quote or read what affects the cost of a wrap.
